Research Committee is the steering body that manages the research and related activities of the University. It has been working as a subcommittee of the Senate since the inception of the University toward becoming
renowned scientists. The committee is driven by the Chairman appointed by the Vice Chancellor and all Deans of the Faculties, Heads of Departments & Librarian are the other members of the committee. Mainly,
the Research Committee plays a key role in University funds disbursement for research and related activities under inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary aspects, monitoring research and related activities,
promoting research publications both locally and internationally, commencing and maintaining refereed journals by opening pathways to scientists to publish the scientific findings, monitoring annual ‘International
Research Conference’ of the University, monitoring activities of the Research Awards Committee, recommending research publications and research project proposals for obtaining research allowance and seeing
the progress of the latter. Accordingly, post graduate and undergraduate research candidates gain opportunity to involve with different research projects under the respective discipline. The University research
highly focuses and expects to contribute to the economic development of the country going with the University theme which is value addition to the local resources. As identified by the Research Committee,
research grants are awarded annually to the University staff members, on competitive basis, under the following research priority areas.
- Value addition to local resources base
- Multidisciplinary research towards socio-economic development of the country
- Development of private-public partnerships
- Sustainable development
