This requirement reveals the potential of a range of agribusiness enterprise start-ups. For any person who has the intention to be a leader in a business enterprise, certain experience and awareness are crucial. As well, in order to cope-up with the industrializing society, it is important to obtain certain professional knowledge and skills relevant.

With this realization, the Department of Export Agriculture, Uva Wellassa University is introducing a certificate course in Agribusiness Management that provides knowledge to enhance the career of a person in business management aspects, with special reference to agricultural businesses. The course has been designed for school leavers as well as for professionals who are willing to get the basic business management knowledge. Since the subjects are offered to convey knowledge in business management and entrepreneurship, the skills learned in this course will be useful in successfully managing own agribusiness, farm or any other relevant business career.
