MoU between Uva Wellassa University and Department of Agriculture

This agreement has been basically made focusing to conduct a Field Training program every year for the undergraduates of B.Sc. in Export Agriculture degree programme at Horticultural Crop Training and Development Institute, Bibile. The training needs to be carried out for one month period and will help produce graduates who are competent, innovative, self-driven and entrepreneurial in developing agriculture sector in Sri Lanka by gaining a strong practical experience. The purpose of signing this agreement was to provide a framework to receive the assistance of the Department of Agriculture in conducting, planning, implementing and evaluation of the student performances that are related to the Field Training program.

Following obligations have been identified under this agreement:

1. Department of Agriculture

a. Conducting the Field Training program on topics related to agriculture and allied fields for the benefits of the undergraduates;
b. Consultation, advising and participating in monitoring and evaluation program;
c. Providing human resources and permitting the use of physical resources to facilitate training to beneficiaries of the program.

2. Uva Wellassa University

a. Coordinating with the DOA on the activities/services provided on the request of the program;
b. Providing expenses for accommodation;
c. Providing financial assistance for field practicals and related aspects such as consumables required to field training program.
