A Seminar on Australia Awards funded by Australian Government was organized by the UWU International Collaboration Centre (UWU-ICC) on the 20th of April, 2016 at the Language Lab of the University. The main aim of this workshop was to familiarize the staff members of Uva Wellassa University on Australia Awards. The seminar was commenced with a speech by Dr. G. Chandrasena, Vice Chancellor of the Uva Wellassa University on the importance of completing postgraduate studies, in particular doctoral studies by university academics.Then, Ms. Anoma Karalliyadde,the Australia Awards Ambassador for Sri Lankaconducted a presentation on Australia Awards and shared her experiences under this prestigious scholarship program. The event was attended by about 60 academic staff members of the University and they received the opportunity to discuss about the future possibilities in applying for higher studies in Australia under this scholarship program with the resource person.
