Department of Science and Technology, Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka proudly presents the first robotic competition, UWU ROBOT BATTLE 2016 in new arc. The Robotic competition is open in two categories as SCHOOL CHALLENGE and OPEN CHALLENGE under two different tasks for those who are interested in robotics island wide. Undergraduate teams and any other teams can participate in open challenge. This will test the advanced skills of participants that are required to complete a higher task in a challenging environment in different ways.

The objectives of conducting the Robotic competition can be stated as:

    To provide an arena to the students of the schools and universities for showing off their skills and competence in this field of study.
    To enhance the basic skills related to artificial intelligence, automation, and programming in students.
    To identify, and facilitate the skillful personnel all over the country who have higher potentials in implementation of task completing robots.

To fulfill the university obligation to be a technological, and entrepreneurship university in SriLanka.

    To promote the study areas provided by the faculty which are related to robotics and artificial intelligence.

Resource Persons
A panel of academic staffs from various universities and industrial persons spend their time and talents to guide each team. Instruction for the competitors, facilitating them with the details and guidance can be given by the organizers with the help of the academic staffs.
