Post of Research Assistant (M. Phil. Student)

Research Project: “Transformation of lignocellulosic biomass into value added green chemicals: A comprehensive approach”
Applications are called from suitable qualified graduates who are willing to read and work as a Full-time Research Assistant for a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Degree for the above research project at Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka.
Required Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Degree with Chemistry subjects obtained from a recognized university offering the mentioned subjects at graduate level (Specialization and Classes will be preferable for selection)
- Knowledge and Work Experience in Organic Chemistry/Green Chemistry related research and publications relevant to the proposed project will be an added qualification.
Method of Selection:
Selection will be done based on the academic qualifications and research proposal (including the work schedule) presented by the candidate. Short listed applicants would be called for an interview.

- Original Copies of all relevant academic and professional qualifications (degree certificates and transcript are compulsory)

Period of Contract:
The contract period for the above post is two years and you need to get into an agreement with the principal investigator of the project for this period and if you leave before the contract period, you need to pay back the total value of stipend received by you from the Research grant.
Monthly Stipend:
Monthly stipend is available for two years. All-inclusive LKR 65,000 per month (for a Bachelor Degree SLQF Level 06 with 1st class or 2nd class upper division) will be paid based on the payment regulations of the Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka.
