Recognizing the mutually beneficial capabilities and abilities of the each, Faculty of Animal Science and Export Agriculture, Uva Wellassa University and Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute (HARTI) agreed to support each other to achieve both their respective academic, education and training mandates and contribute to the development of Sri Lanka by working together for manpower development and collaborative research & development. Accordingly, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on February 09, 2022 at Uva Wellassa University. The purpose of this MoU is to reach an understanding for academic and scientific cooperation between Faculty of Animal Science and Export Agriculture, Uva Wellassa University and Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute through an agreed strategy that will optimize mutuality of the purpose. 

Prof. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera, Vice Chancellor, Uva Wellassa University and Mr. Malinda Senevirathne, Chairman/CEO, Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute (HARTI) endorsed the MoU by putting their signatures representing the two parties. Prof. H.M.S.K. Herath, Dean, Faculty of Animal Science, Mr. Hibathul Careem, Registrar of Uva Wellassa University, Prof. A.M.W.K. Senevirathne, Head, Department of Export Agriculture, Dr. (Ms.) D.C. Mudannayaka, Head, Department of Animal Science and some staff members attended the event. The same was witnessed by the Registrar and some representatives of HARTI.
