Faculty of Animal Science and Export Agriculture of Uva Wellassa University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New Frontiers (Pvt.) Ltd. on July 15, 2021. 

In accordance with a mutual desire to promote agriculture and agriculture related sectors of the country, as specified in the MoU, Uva Wellassa University and New Frontiers (Pvt.) Ltd. will act cooperatively by sharing the knowledge, skills and experience possessed by both parties. Activities to be undertaken, having signed the agreement, will contribute to production of graduates who are competent, innovative, self-driven and entrepreneurial in development of agriculture and agriculture related sectors, through a-strong practical experience which in turn benefit the country, in future. Academic staff will experience their innovative ideas and capabilities through active participation in research and farm development process whereas the New Frontiers (Pvt.) Ltd. will get an opportunity to develop their own property with the technological support of the university.

Prof. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekera, Vice Chancellor, Uva Wellassa University and Mr. Sarath Chandra de Silva, Chairman, New Frontiers (Pvt.) Ltd. endorsed the MoU by putting their signatures representing the two parties. Prof. H.M.S.K. Herath, Dean, Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. A.M.W.K. Senevirathne, Head, Department of Export Agriculture, and Dr. G.A.A.R. Perera, Senior Lecturer, Department of Export Agriculture witnessed the event.
