We are seeking a Field Assistant to support the principal investigator in overseeing field operations in the Forest Dynamic Plot within the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This two-year project offers a unique opportunity to engage with forest research at Sinharaja Forest. Responsibilities:
- Assist the principal investigator in coordinating and executing field operations.
- Manage and maintain field equipment and resources efficiently.
- Implement field strategies and protocols and direct the research team.
- Collect, record data and methodically maintain data files with accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met effectively.
Requirements:
- Male candidates aged between 22 and 30 years old.
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field such as Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agriculture, Geology, Environmental Science, Forestry, or Geography. A three-year or four year degree is acceptable.
- Must be physically strong and agile to navigate challenging terrain.
- Willingness to reside in the research centre within the forest.
- Preference is given to individuals with low family attachment due to the distant nature of the role.
- Capability to operate and reside in a remote area without mobile network coverage.

- Starting salary of Rs.50,000/- with the potential for an increase up to Rs.75,000/- within six months.
