Comprehensive Training on HPLC and AAS to Selected Academic Staff Members and Technical Officers

The Comprehensive Training on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) held on September 21st and 22nd, 2023, was a transformative event for scientific advancement. Dr. B.K.K.K. Jinadasa, a seasoned Bio Medical Engineer from the United Nations Office for Project Service, and Mr. B.A.Y.B. Jayawardhana, an Application Specialist at Analytical Instrument (pvt) Ltd, led the training.

A diverse cohort of distinguished participants, including Asso. Prof. D.T. Udagedara, Ms. M.A.G.G.M. Ranasinghe, Dr. A.S. Mahaliyana, Dr. Niluni Wijesundara, Dr. Indunil Rathnayake, Dr. Milan Rambukwella, Dr. A. A. G. D. Amarasooriya, Mr. Wijeyrama, Ms. Poornima Dasanayake, and Mr. N.B.A.M.G. Bandara, enriched the event.

The thoroughly crafted two-day program covered foundational theories, advanced applications, maintenance, troubleshooting, and data analysis. Dr. Jinadasa’s masterful delivery of theoretical concepts, combined with Mr. Jayawardhana’s precise hands-on sessions, ensured deep understanding and practical proficiency among participants. The training concluded with notable progress, with participants now confidently wielding HPLC and AAS techniques. Ms. Poornima Dasanayake, and Mr. N.B.A.M.G. Bandara demonstrated commendable strides in practical applications.

This training’s impact will extend beyond its duration, shaping research endeavors and contributing to scientific progress. Encouraging continued practice and organizing follow-up sessions will be crucial in reinforcing learning and addressing any lingering queries.
