The Short course in Robotics and Arduino Programming which is organized by the Department of Science and Technology, commenced on the 14th of December 2019 with the participants of 16 students. The main objective of the course is to introduce Arduino programming and robot control. This short course will be able to enhance knowledge of students on electronics and robotics and build up a good relationship between the university and regional students. Students can use the theory and practical knowledge gained during this course to develop robots based on Arduino independently. The course is coordinated by Mr. Thayananthan Thevathayarajh and lectures will be conducted by Mr. Thushara Ekanayake, Mr. Chinthaka Amarasinghe, Ms. Buddhi Liyanapathirana, Mr. Chanaka Premarathna and Mr. Ashan Ratnayake. This programme successfully started with the enormous contribution from Prof. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekara (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Sisira Ediriweera (Dean, Faculty of Applied Sciences), Dr. Jagath Pitawala (Head, Department of Science and Technology) and Dr. Sandya Kumari (Coordinator- Mechatronics).
Students who learn “Robotics and Arduino Programming” today, are those who will be engineering tomorrow.
