Interschool Quiz competition – Uva Province schools

We as the prime University in the Uva province would like to take lead in promoting creativity and innovative spirit among school children. These children will be the next generation to study at UWU. Therefore, we decide to invite the school community of Uva province to join our 10th anniversary celebrations by organizing the interschool quiz competition.

The completion will be only for schools in Uva province up to GCE (O/L). Therefore, the participants for the above mentioned quiz will be student in their 10th or 11th grade. Since there is a possibility to have higher numbers of schools participating at the quiz (>650 schools in Uva province) the round 1 will be asking MCQ questions(100 questions- 1 hr.) based on general knowledge, IQ, O/L Science and Maths syllabus. Each team can collectively discuss and answer the questions. Quiz will be held at UWU premises

Only schools in the Uva province will be invited to participate. The round 1 and 2 of quizzes will be based on general knowledge, IQ, O/L Science and Maths syllabus. Therefore, each school is expected to send 5 students (4 to participate and 1 standby) at Grade 10 or 11 along with a name of a teacher who will be responsible for the team.

Since there is a possibility to have higher numbers of schools participating at the quiz (>650 schools in Uva province) the round 1 will be asking MCQ questions(100 questions- 1 hr.) based on general knowledge, IQ, O/L Science and Maths syllabus. Each team can collectively discuss and answer the questions. Quiz will be held in UWU premises as travelling to 8 educational zone ay be costly. The highest scoring 8 schools from round 1 will be invited to the final competition.

This will be a more interactive session which consists of initial four parallel sessions and grand finale between highest scoring schools. Winners will be awarded with a certificate, gold medal and trophy while semifinal teams will get silver medal, certificate. Both schools and last 8 schools will get cash prizes/ books for participation.
