The well-facilitated computer laboratory with 24-hour access for students, called Self-Access Center (SAC), Faculty of the Applied Sciences was ceremonially opened on the November 22, 2022 at the D-Block, Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka by participating distinguished invitees, faculty members and students. It has been created for the utilization of the faculty students to carry out their learner-centered activities during any time of the day. SAC is equipped with high tech 70 computers, headsets with mics, cameras, a smart interactive board for video conferencing, fast internet facilities, while providing printer, scanner and copier facilities for students. RFID card will be issued to the students and they have to create an account and top up their accounts by paying to shroff counter. Then by swiping their RFID cards they can take the printouts and the cost will be deducted from their account. In addition to that, there is a lobby area attached to SAC for students to spend the time and relax while having a Nescafe.
